Let the blogging begin!

All right, all right...I know what you're thinking: "It took you long enough to get a blog setup!" Well, miracles still happen and the VanderBurgh Family finally has its own blog as of, um, well, today! I can't promise regular writings, nor can I promise interesting writings, but I can promise you an update here or there of what God's doing in our lives.

Yes, at the end of May 2008, we moved from Hungary back to California. While some might think that move in itself was challenging, we truly found God preparing the way for us and the road to California was a smooth one. Granted, life has changed dramatically with our return to the States. Jason has gone to work full-time for his dad's property management company. Also, on Friday mornings, he's teaching for the Calvary Chapel Bible College extension campus at our home church, Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. This Fall, he's teaching the book of Isaiah. Hmmm...66 chapters in just 15 weeks? No problem!

As for me, Angie, I'm still a stay-at-home mommy for our two cuties, Elea and Ty. I'm also teaching three English classes one day a week for a local homeschool network. I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing that opportunity is to me! I really do love teaching literature and writing. Elea is 4 1/2 and is in preschool (!!!). Ty is 1 1/2 years old and is my professional climber. Nothing in our house, no matter the height, is safe from Ty.

That's our life in a nutshell right now. There are still a lot of questions in our mind (and yours, too, I'm sure!) about where God is leading us--Will we stay in California or go back onto the mission field again? Should Jason go back into full-time ministry? etc.--but what we do know right now is that God is good, all the time! And that time is now! We're having a blast living in God's will and going with His leading for our life. Give it a try!Well, I'm off to go attempt to mow our grass for the first time. I miss living in the Hungarian countryside where long grass just looks natural. I'm thinking that my OC neighbors aren't exactly going to think the same thing about our long grass...
